Melvin Sharry was born in a small farming community in Caldo County Oklahoma on January First, 1944. His family moved to Conroe, Texas, when he was in the third grade. He attended David Crockett High School. Later he attended East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas, for two years. He took Seminary extension classes for two years. He then attended The Bible Institute in Alamo, Tennessee, and received a Doctor of Divinity Degree in 1974. For forty-five years, he has served as pastor to churches in East Texas, North West LA, as well as a mission church in Colorado. He makes his home with his wife Linda in Atlanta, Texas. At the present time, he serves as pastor of the center Grove Baptist Church in Linden, Texas.
